Dojo Wiz head coach Shu Takaishi started snowboarding when he was 20 years old in 1990 in Whistler.
He had been in most of snowboard contest as racing, half pipe, slope style in 1990 -1997.
He was the one of the snowboarders racing in worlds first snowboard cross race on Blackcomb mountain in 1991.
He was competing in half pipe contest since 1992 until 1997.
But he liked straight jumping more than half pipe so he became one the first guys to make a snowboard terrain park in Asahikawa Hokkaido Japan in 1994.
And as his habit, he taught many his juniors while riding in the park with them.
So he realized that coaching snowboarding is his nature.
Since 2002 he started his coaching career in Canadian Sports Business Academy (CSBA) Whistler as Snowboard program manager and head coach.
In his carrier with CSBA, he trained and developed many his athletes into top level in competition.
Some of them are still top riders as competing at national level contest.
